A chef was killed by a hammer-wielding attacker in a horrific, and apparently random, attack on a Chinese buffet restaurant in Brooklyn on Tuesday evening. Police say the suspect burst into the Seaport Buffet restaurant and attacked the 60-year-old owner, a 50-year-old manager, and the 34-year-old chef, who was fatally injured, the New York Daily News reports. The owner and manager were hospitalized in critical condition with head injuries. The 35-year-old suspect was arrested two blocks away. "It was unprovoked. It appears random," a police source tells the Daily News. "He is an emotionally disturbed person."

Samantha Randazzo, owner of the business next door, Randazzo's Clam Bar, tells NBC New York that terrified customers fled to her restaurant and told her to lock the doors. "A couple of people, customers from the restaurant, came in here, and we let them in and they said a guy came in crazy with a hammer and started hammering certain people, random people," she says. "The guy said he was just screaming crazy words, like 'I'm killing everybody, world is hell,'" she says. "Just screaming crazy things." The slain chef has been identified as Brooklyn resident Fufai Pun. (More New York City stories.)
