(AP Photo/Orlin Wagner) (Associated Press) The Kansas City Chiefs welcomed back an aging Priest Holmes last night, nearly two years after he sustained a severe neck injury that almost put him out of play permanently. The enigmatic 34-year-old running back held the team record for yards rushed and touchdowns scored before his 2005 injury. He managed 9 yards last night against the Raiders. The Chiefs reportedly expected to offer him a retirement ceremony earlier this season, but his agent came back with the unexpected news that Holmes wanted to play again because of “a dream.” Just weeks before, he had told ESPN that going back "won't be something where I'll have a dream or a prophet comes to me; it won't be anything like that."
