Boston tripped by power plays, snafus in humbling game

The Boston Bruins saw their four-game win streak broken in dramatic fashion last night as the Montreal Canadiens sent six goals past Manny Fernandez. After a 5-2-0 start, the Bruins came "back to earth very quick," coach Claude Julien told the Boston Herald. "We kind of lost our composure.”

Boston also lost faceoffs in the defensive zone, and gave up two goals on the wrong end of power plays. Fernandez found himself on his own for many of the Canadiens' 20 shot attempts, as the Bruins' defense crumbled. Julien knows what needs to be improved, saying:  "We started taking chances and made bad decisions that ended up making the situation even worse." (More NHL stories.)
