(AP Photo/St. Petersburg Police Department) Less than a month after two Florida police officers were killed in a St. Petersburg shootout, another officer was shot to death in the city, CNN reports. Police today formed a tight perimeter around the area where Officer David Crawford was shot only moments after leaving his police cruiser to confront a suspect last night. "It stings," says Chief Chuck Harmon. "This killer has taken somebody very precious to us, a member of our family." Crawford was responding to a call about a suspicious person carrying a brick in a back yard. Hundreds of officers were scouring the area on foot today, along with scent dogs and aerial backup.
