A marijuana grower who shot dead one burglar and critically injured another won't be facing any charges at this time, say Colorado cops. Karen Cordova, 48, attacked the men after they broke into her home, where she grows medical marijuana, the Longmont Times-Call reports. One of the men had learned of Cordova's marijuana operation after doing handyman jobs for her.
Cordova apparently did not report the incident, but police investigating the stabbing arrived at her home two days later. "I'm not going to lie. What would you do if someone broke into your house at 2:30 in the morning? I'm a single woman," she told them. The body of the shot man was found at the edge of her property. "Oh my God, I didn't know that I killed him," Cordova said, according to the police report. "They were coming for me." Colorado's "Make My Day" law allows people to use deadly force against intruders who they believe intend to commit a crime. (More burglary stories.)
