Wash. State Edges Baylor in Nail-Biter, 67-64

The sixth-ranked Washington State Cougars fended off a Baylor threat last night, winning 67-64 on Derrick Low's consecutive three-pointers. Sharpshooter Robbie Cowgill nailed eight of 12 shots for 18 points and Aron Baynes scored 10 in just 13 minutes of play to drive the Cougars to a 7-0 season start, the AP reports.

Baylor had a 12-point lead at halftime, after the Cougars had committed 11 turnovers and seen no scoring from Low. After intermission, Washington State held further turnovers to just 3, and Low put together nine points. Aron Bruce led the scoring for Baylor with 13, and Kevin Rogers had 11 rebounds as the Bears dropped to 5-1.
