Turns out drunken dads aren't the only ones who let their children get behind the wheel of a car. One Delaware mom let her 9-year-old boy drive himself to school this week, much to the amazement of other kids and parents, the Delaware News Journal reports. Police soon picked up the mom, Tammy Oneal, and charged her with reckless endangering and endangering the welfare of a child. Oneal's boy "was apparently bugging his mother to let him drive to school," a police captain says.

One 10-year-old boy in Eatonville, Florida, not only drove a car on his own—he stole it. The child scaled the fence of a town impound lot and drove off with a white pickup truck, the Orlando Sentinel reports. After another driver noticed and called the cops, the boy avoided police by throwing the truck into reverse. Police duly watched him drive a couple of blocks, smash into a light pole, and set a house on fire. The boy was arrested and told cops that a relative taught him how to drive. (More child stories.)
