Spurs Can't Best Warriors at Small Ball

The Warriors are the first team to capitalize on Tim Duncan's absence from the Spurs, thwarting San Antonio's attempt to beat them at their own small-ball game. Golden State's 96-84 win came partly courtesy of the Spurs' team-high 21 turnovers, and in spite of Mark Bonner's career-best 25 points and 17 rebounds, reports the San Jose Mercury News.

Golden State's Stephen Jackson led his team's scoring with 20 points and held recent hotshot Manu Ginobili to 13 points, on 4-for-14 shooting. Between Baron Davis' 18 points and Matt Barnes' 16, the Warriors built a lead that reached 22 points in the third quarter. This loss snapped a five-game Spurs streak.
