Tim Duncan had a slow start coming back from an ankle injury, but Michael Finley and Fabricio Oberto each put up their best nights this season in San Antonio's 102-91 defeat of the Nuggets. The win broke a two-game losing streak, and ensured a perfect home record for the Spurs, reports the San Antonio Express-News. Elsewhere in the south:

  • New Orleans also snapped a two-game slide at home, as Chris Paul and Morris Peterson chipped in 21 points each and helped stunt Phoenix's scoring to secure a 101-98 victory.
  • Tracy McGrady struggled with his shooting and Houston once again couldn't get it together to down the Mavericks, as Dallas prevailed 96-83.
