Romney Wins in Wyoming

Mitt Romney won the Wyoming Republican caucuses today by netting eight of the state's twelve delegates, Reuters reports. Fred Thompson racked up three delegates and California Rep. Duncan Hunter won one. "This is just the beginning," Romney said. "The people of Wyoming took the first step towards bringing true conservative change to Washington."

Wyoming held its caucuses earlier this year, a move defended by the convention's organizer—even after the Republican National Committee cut the state's delegates from 28 to 14 as a punishment, the AP reports. "The ultimate goal is not how many times we appear on Katie Couric," the organizer said. "The ultimate goal was to have attention paid to rank-and-file Republicans by national candidates."
