The Buffalo Sabres ended their 10-game winless streak in style Friday with a 10-1 beating of the Atlanta Thrashers, reports the Associated Press. "We're not getting carried away," defenseman Brian Campbell told the Buffalo News. "We're 1-10 in our last 11 games and we've still got a lot of work to do."

Drew Stafford had three goals and two assists and Derek Roy had a hat trick as the Sabres won for the first time since Dec. 22. The Sabres, who scored just 16 times during their 10-game skid, scored four times in the first period. Daniel Paille, Thomas Vanek, Jochen Hecht and Ales Kotalik also netted goals. The loss dropped Atlanta out of first place in the Southeast Division. (More NHL stories.)
