The White House is expected to look a smidge less welcoming in the near future—CBS News reports that the Secret Service plans to put spikes atop its fence. The "pencil point" protrusions would theoretically deter fence-climbers—like so and so—and the idea is expected to be approved by the the National Capital Planning Commission next month. The spiked fence would be temporary until longer-term improvements—still unspecified—are in place. (Of course, the spikes wouldn't keep the determined from squeezing through the fence.)
