A suspect has been arrested in the apparently random Tuesday night killing of a jogger in Washington, DC. Anthony Crawford, 23, has been charged with first-degree murder while armed in the death of Wendy Martinez, who was fatally stabbed. At a press conference Thursday, police said they have not established motive and that Crawford, who has a criminal history, did not cooperate with authorities, WTOP reports. They are looking into whether he had mental health problems. Martinez's family said in a statement they are "heartbroken." Wendy, who just got engaged, "should have been shopping for her wedding dress on Friday."

Witnesses at the Chinese restaurant an injured Martinez stumbled into after the attack say the 35-year-old tried to alert customers to the person who stabbed her, but he got away. Police say video footage and community tips led to Crawford's arrest, ABC News reports; he was found in a park near the site of the attack and had an injury to his hand. There was no robbery or confrontation before the attack, CBS News reports; police say the suspect didn't say a word to Martinez before she was stabbed. (More murder stories.)
