(AP Photo/Alex Brandon) Police in Virginia say multiple people were killed and injured Tuesday night in a shooting at a Chesapeake Walmart that was carried out by an employee. WAVY reports the shooting was reported at 10:12pm at a supercenter location off Battlefield Boulevard. The city of Chesapeake said that seven people are dead, reports the New York Times, including the still-unnamed shooter. Police rep Leo Kosinski said the responding officers found "multiple fatalities and multiple injured" upon entering the store. A law enforcement source describes the shooter as a "disgruntled employee," reports NBC News. Chesapeake Police Chief Mark Solesky said in a Wednesday morning news conference that the shooter, who used a pistol, is thought to have died by suicide. Four victims remain hospitalized. WAVY spoke to one witness who works at the Walmart and said the shooting started as a group of employees gathered in a meeting room to hear about their duties for their shift. She indicated that she believed the shooting was planned and that the shooter zeroed in on managers; police have offered no confirmation of that. "There is no clear motive at this time," Solesky noted. This story has been updated as information emerges. Read These Next A "horrific" incident killed 3 deputies in East Los Angeles.
