The Princeton Review is out with an annual ranking of colleges and universities that has a decidedly practical focus: Which public schools provide the best bang for the buck? With tuition at sky-high levels, the ranking attempts to suss out the schools offering the best "return on investment." A number of factors go into the mix, including cost, academic quality, the availability of financial aid, and job prospects for future grads. This year, Georgia Tech (with an in-state tuition of about $10,500) heads the list. The top 10:
- Georgia Institute of Technology, in Atlanta
- The University of Virginia, in Charlottesville
- The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
- The University of Calfornia-Irvine
- The University of California-Berkeley
- The University of California-San Diego
- The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor
- The University of Washington, in Seattle
- North Carolina State University, in Raleigh
- The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
