One of the capital's most famous bachelors is now a married man. Democratic Sen. Cory Booker, 56, married real estate investment firm director Alexis Lewis, 38, in two ceremonies, People reports. A ceremony at the federal courthouse in Newark last Monday was followed by an "intimate" interfaith ceremony in Washington, DC, on Saturday, with a rabbi and a pastor blessing the couple, reports the New York Times. "Overflowing with gratitude," the couple said in an Instagram post. "We said 'I do' in two places that shaped us—Cory's beloved Newark and Alexis's hometown of Washington, DC—first at the courthouse, then with our families. Hearts full and so grateful."

Cory Booker, once named one of Town & Country's top 40 bachelors, is officially off the market. The Democrat senator from New Jersey announced his engagement to Alexis Lewis Tuesday on Instagram. Lewis works at a real estate investment firm and she and Booker were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend about 16 months ago, an aide tells NJ.com. The Washington Post reports she's 38. "Alexis is one of the greatest unearned blessings of my life," wrote Booker, 56, in his post. "She has transformed me, helping me to ground and center my inner life, and discover the joys of building a nurturing home with someone you love. ... I am savoring the soul-affirming wonder of everyday life with my partner, best friend, and now my fiancée."

Booker, a frequent critic of President Trump who himself ran for president in 2020, has often fended off rumors that he's gay, HuffPost reported in 2019. He's never married or had children, but has been linked romantically to poet Cleo Wade and, more recently, Rosario Dawson. He and the actress split in 2022 after more than two years together; he once told BuzzFeed she was the first person he'd "really lived with." Speculation continues to swirl that he may run for president again in 2028.
