The violent crowd protesting the G20 summit in London has broken into a branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland, smashing windows and carrying computers and furniture out into the streets. Riot police attempted to keep the protesters away from the building and in containment pens in the City, but about 20 people pushed through, the Guardian reports.
Police confirm that 11 people who arrived at the scene in an armored vehicle have been arrested, and reporters say they've seen even more arrests. Chanting "It's our street," protesters cheered as the RBS looters emerged with phones and files. Some of the anger appears aimed at continued pension payments to Sir Fred Goodwin, the bank's former CEO.
