Minn. Cancer Fugitive, Mother Return Home

Thirteen-year-old Daniel Hauser and his mother Colleen have returned to their home state of Minnesota after fleeing court-ordered chemotherapy, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Authorities have taken Daniel Hauser for a medical checkup; they wouldn’t say whether the return was the result of an arrest, deferring questions to a press conference scheduled for later today.

The Hausers are believed to have fled the state—perhaps to Mexico—to pursue natural remedies for the cancerous tumor in Daniel’s chest. Colleen Hauser is wanted on charges of criminal negligence, according to an FBI affidavit.
