Pooley, file) The biological parents of a baby boy born to a woman implanted with the wrong embryo say they will remain "eternally grateful" for her decision to turn the baby over to them. The Toledo woman gave birth to a health baby boy this week after a fertility clinic mistakenly implanted her with an embryo from Paul and Shannon Morell of Michigan. The Morells today called Carolyn Savage their "guardian angel." A clinic outside Ohio transferred the wrong frozen embryo in February. Ten days later, Savage got a call from a doctor saying she was pregnant with someone else's child. In an interview, she and her husband say they never considered terminating the pregnancy or fighting for custody.
