(AP Photo/HBO, Jaimie Trueblood) The sizzling TV vampire series True Blood is ringing just as true with British audiences as with American fans. Why? Brits love the "gripping blend of southern American small-town mentality and hideous murders" in the series peopled by "Daisy Duke" Anna Paquin and her "chisel-cheeked" lover played by Stephen Moyer, writes Simon Chilvers in the Guardian. That's not even to mention the hot sex and stud muffin Jason Stackhouse. Chilvers also sees "true depth" in the series that takes on bigotry and homophobia. Not all British papers are on board the True Blood fan express. The Daily Mail has lashed the series' "depravity, explicit sexuality (bordering on pornography) and vile language." Notes Chilvers: "Now you know it must be good!" Read These Next JD Vance's war skepticism is becoming an issue. 'Miracle fruit' is helping chemo patients taste again.
