Chuck Heath backs Tarkanian as 'true conservative'

Politics is turning into an all-family affair for the Palins as Sarah Palin's father features in an ad for one of the many Republicans seeking a chance to unseat Nevada Sen. Harry Reid this fall. Chuck Heath endorses Republican Danny Tarkanian as the "true conservative" choice in the radio ad set to air statewide starting next week, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Tarkanian "is the guy conservatives want fighting for them against the business-as-usual crowd in DC," Heath, a retired science professor and track coach, says in the ad. "He will fight to cut taxes, slash spending, and end budget-busting pork barrel politics." Polls show Tarkanian, a former UNLV basketball star, is in second place among the 14 Republicans seeking the nomination.
