Politics | Sarah Palin Sarah Palin: Let Israel Know We Stand With 'Em Media's full of it: 'Islamist' Turkey backs 'pro-terror convoy' By Jane Yager Posted Jun 2, 2010 7:20 AM CDT Copied FILE - In this May 1, 2010 file photo, former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin addresses the 2nd biannual Michigan Defending the American Dream Summit in Clarkston, Mich. (AP Photo/Carlos Osorio, File) Israel has at least one international supporter of its attack on a Gaza aid flotilla: Sarah Palin posted a message on her Facebook page saying that "We need to let Israelis know we stand with them in their fight against terrorists." Calling the flotilla a "pro-terror convoy," Palin warned her supporters not to trust "liberal mainstream media" reporting on the incident, the Weekly Standard reports. Israel was simply defending itself from a "cynical" and "carefully orchestrated" provocation by "Islamist" Turkey, which "chose to incite confrontation and violence," Palin claims. As for the humanitarian aid aboard the ship, "Israel has a right to prevent arms shipments to Gaza that will be used to target innocent Israelis, so they were legitimately checking the cargo on the flotilla."
