With Parker out for year, San Diego trades high draft pick to bolster receiver corps

San Diego has made a gutsy mid-season trade to help its passing offense, picking up Miami playmaker Chris Chambers in exchange for a second-round pick. Chambers replaces rookie Buster Davis, who in turn was filling in for injured starter Eric Parker. He leaves a floundering 0-6 Dolphins team for a trendy pre-season Super Bowl pick.

At 3-3, the Chargers have underperformed, especially on offense, which has superstar LaDainian Tomlinson on the ground but only tight end Antonio Gates as a noteworthy weapon through the air. In just over eight seasons, Chambers is fourth on Miami's all-time passing touchdowns list with 43.
